As a freelance musician, he plays in various orchestras and ensembles, as well as frequently appearing as a soloist alphorn player.<\/p>\n<p>He is the conductor of the Musikgesellschaft Gstaad and Bern B\u00fcmpliz, directs the Youth Music Heimberg and teaches at the music schools of Aaretal and Saanenland-Obersimmental. Furthermore, he directs the education courses in wind instruments and alphorn scenes.<\/p>\n<p>Dominik Zi\u00f6rjen received his first cornet lessons at the age of nine. He successfully participated in several solo competitions and was, for many years, a member of the National Youth Brass Band.
